My name is Ed O’Donoghue. I live in rural county Cork, Ireland with my wife, 4 children, 2 dogs and 1 cat. We’re just like most young families with all the chaos and struggles of daily life.
The blog was born out of crisis. Ostensibly the spectacular failure of a business that I ran and a period of unemployment that ensued. I had already been journaling on an irregular basis but took to blogging as a means of self discovery and exploring new ideas.
I have worn many hats in a varied professional life. Thankfully, a thread has begun to appear in recent years which offer the semblance of a ‘career’. Over the past 10 years I have worked to reduce society’s impact on the environment through energy efficient construction and, more recently, the adoption of higher levels of renewable energy in power grids.
This means that I am quite regularly challenging conventions, challenging people’s perceptions. However, the person that I challenge the most is myself. The articles and information in this blog as the distilled outcome of this process. Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future. I believe in the possibility of life and I hope that I can convey this to you through my ramblings here.
